Jennylyn Soriano, OFW from Malaysia

Jennelyn Soriano is an OFW currently working in Malaysia. She is a kind hearted person and she values God more than anything else. She decided to work abroad to provide for her family, as well as to prepare for her future. Jennelyn is religious, as the bible is her bestfriend whenever she feels lonely or she misses his family back at home. If given a chance to have a decent work in her home country, she’s willing, because being far from the loved ones is tough.

What makes you decide to work abroad?

I decide to work abroad para makatulong sa family ko at makaipon para sa Future ko.

What is the hardest part of being an OFW?

The hardest part of being an OFW is yung malayo ka sa family mo lalo na pag may sakit  kasi kailangan mo magtrabaho.

 

What are the things you have established/bought since you became an OFW?

Mga gamit sa  bahay.

Do you have a bad experience as an OFW either abroad or in the Philippines?

My bad experience is yong sinabihan ako ng matandang alaga ko na stupid, before sobrang iyak ako sa kwarto tapos nagdadasal lang ako, dalawang beses akong sinabihan ng ganun.. but hindi ako  sumagot s gnun bagkus sinumbong ko siya sa boss ko na babae and then ng tumagal hindi naman na ako sinabihan ng di maganda. Ngaun close na kmi.

Do you have any plans in mind so that you don’t have to work abroad for the rest of your life?

Wala pa naman

Would you ever consider working in your home country again? Why?

Yes, Kung may pagkakataon kasi mahirap malayo sa family.

How do you handle being homesick (homesickness)?

Reading Holy Bible, every time I miss my Family.

Do you think the popular social media platforms can help fight boredom? Why?

YES, it’s help to fight my boredom.

What are the things you regret not doing because of your time spent working abroad?

I never regret to spent time working abroad kasi makakabuti sa pamilya ko ung pag work ko at thankful pa nga ako or blessed kasi dito ko mas nakilala ang Diyos and the same time nagkaroon ako ng confidence…

Can you give tips or advice for people who are planning to go abroad?

Lakas ng Loob at tapang.  The most important  is ang Diyos  ang unahin mo sa lahat ng bagay. Dapat marunong makisama
